SUMMARY
The Retail & Grocery Summer Staff are responsible for helping prepare temporary retail & grocery locations across the EAA grounds before AirVenture. They will assist in retail operations as well as assist in managing a retail location during AirVenture. Staff will be assigned to either a retail or a grocery store location. This position is a 40-hour summer position.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Tag, hang, fold and stock retail merchandise on shelves and racks.
Label and stock grocery items in coolers and on shelves.
Set up fixtures and merchandise in temporary locations.
Unload and load boxes, merchandise and fixtures.
Heavy cleaning duties include scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cutting down boxes, taking out trash, etc.
Train weekly AirVenture staff to run a cash register, stock merchandise and give excellent customer service.
Manage a team and location during the week of AirVenture.
Take down locations and prepare for inventory post-AirVenture.
Embraces and supports the EAA mission and performs safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Previous customer service/cashiering experience is a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively to lead a team.
Ability to work core hours Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods of time & bending.
Must be available to work up to an 8-hour shift everyday Monday-Friday from July 15 through August 1.
AirVenture week hours will vary depending on the assigned location (some locations are open 5:30am - 10pm).
Individuals must be at least 16 years of age, although an age of 18 years is preferred.
Must be at least age 18 to drive and sell alcohol, with a possible $1.00/hour more depending on assigned duties and responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to perform manual labor, lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, push and pull motions. Work above ground on irregular surfaces. May have exposure to outside weather elements, noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, pesticides, and/or fertilizers.
