Now Hiring: Structural Fitters (Day Shift)

Location: Northeast Houston

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00/hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM Saturday, 6:00 AM–12:00 PM

Openwork is proud to partner with a well-established and respected manufacturing company in Northeast Houston to find skilled Structural Fitters for their growing team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering weekly pay, consistent hours, and the chance to work with a company that values craftsmanship and quality.

About the Role:

As a Structural Fitter, you’ll play a key role in the layout, fitting, and fabrication of metal components used in structural assemblies. You'll work with structural shapes, steel pipe, and plate steel—using blueprints, hand tools, and welding equipment to bring detailed shop drawings to life.

Key Responsibilities:

Layout, fit, and weld structural assemblies from steel components

Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings with weld symbols

Perform MIG welding to assemble and fabricate metal structures

Confirm measurements and quality using a variety of tools and gauges

Maintain safety and quality standards in every weld

Assist with additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

1+ year of relevant structural fitting or welding experience

AWS D1.1 welding certification required

Strong blueprint reading skills

Experience with handrail, ladder (with/without safety cage), and stair layout/fitting

Proficient in MIG welding

Familiar with ironwork, plate rollers, and tube benders

Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus (not required)
