Job Summary

Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Developmental Services is expanding crisis services and seeks a dynamic licensed mental health professional to manage the Co-Responder Team, which is a newly implemented program in the Crisis Services line. This program cross trains with Emergency Services to provide crisis intervention and specializes in community co-response with law enforcement. The team includes licensed professionals, crisis intervention counselors, and peer specialists.

The Program Manager will:

• Provide program development, data analysis, personnel management, and clinical supervision

• As a leader in crisis services, will use his/her expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual/developmental disabilities to support a rapid crisis response to community locations in law enforcement vehicles

• Be skilled and creative in addressing complex situations and navigating available resources to be used in responding to individuals in crisis

• Work collaboratively with individuals served, families, law enforcement, courts, hospitals, and other human service agencies

Successful candidates excel at program development; thrive in complex, fast-paced, community settings, and are collaborative with community partners to provide the best services to the Loudoun community. Regular schedule includes weekday and evening hours.

Hiring salary will be commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Masters degree in Business, Public Administration or department related area and three (3) years of directly related crisis intervention and stabilization services work experience; including two (2) years of supervisory or management experience; preferably in a government setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Professional licensure as: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP); Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner; Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist; Medical Doctor (MD); Doctor of Osteopathy (DO); or Registered Nurse (RN) with 5 years' experience in behavioral health

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates strongly encouraged to apply

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

• Must be fitted for N-95 (or similar) mask to safely provide on-site services as needed

• Must be eligible for certification as a Certified Preadmission Screening Clinician (CPASC) in accordance with VA DBHDS regulations

• Must be eligible to be a certified Notary Public

• Must adhere to INOVA Loudoun Hospital Center contractor policies

• Co-Responder team activities include driving in law enforcement vehicle for extended periods of time, responding to 911 calls for behavioral health crisis with law enforcement, and outreach to individuals/families after 911 calls for service

• Co-Responder team requirements include wearing a Kevlar vest and participating in trainings via criminal justice academy

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, credit check, driving record check and TB test. Must have a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
