The Print / Press Operator is responsible for assisting the Print / Press Manager in ensuring that all orders are printed and pressed in a timeframe that would allow production deadlines to be met. They spend most of their day pressing production orders, occasionally printing production orders, assisting in the cutting process, and occasionally receiving and stocking raw goods inventory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Use data and communication to prioritize printing and pressing production orders in order to meet all deadlines
Operates multiple wide format sublimation printers
Operates sublimation press
Monitors and maintains ink and paper levels on the printers as well as the press
Receives and stocks raw goods inventory
Interprets work orders, paying close attention to all details to ensure product is completed correctly with the highest standard of accuracy and quality and reflects artwork
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations with co-workers and/or supervisors
Performs scheduled maintenance on all print and press machines
Maintains a clean, organized and safety conscious work area
Upholds JUNK Brands' values of acting with integrity; working together as a team; treating each other with respect
Contribute to quality control by inspecting materials and finished products. Interpret SOPs and only pass good products. Understand what product can be reworked/corrected and what has to be scrapped
Document and communication quality control issues in system
Assist in the cutting process by accurately aligning and trimming materials according to specifications, ensuring consistency and quality standards are met for all production orders.
Organize work orders into appropriate containers by thread color for proper workflow
Skills and Competencies
Good communicator (visual, written and verbal)
Competent with computers and able to learn new systems quickly
Able to use data to make informed decisions
Is highly motivated with strong work ethics, and demonstrated flexibility to meet tight deadlines
Mechanically inclined
Education and Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Physical/Mental Requirements
Required to have close visual acuity to perform computer tasks and operate other machinery
Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
Ability to move 60+ lbs. occasionally throughout the day
Ability to stand, walk, kneel or sit throughout the day
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
