HSL is Hiring for a Marketing & Design Assistant!
The Marketing & Design Assistant is a hybrid role combining creative graphic design execution with core marketing coordination. This position supports the production of digital and print collateral while also contributing to campaign implementation, property marketing efforts, and visual content management. This role collaborates cross-functionally with the Marketing Coordinator and Graphic Designer to maintain brand consistency, support internal clients, and streamline creative deliverables. The assistant will aid with design templates, digital assets, signage, and event coordination, while helping execute multi-property marketing campaigns.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, graphic design or related field.
One (1) to three (3) years of hands-on marketing and graphic design experience or a combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Canva.
Familiarity with Yardi, RentCafé, and other property marketing platforms preferred.
Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience with photography, layout design, and content creation is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in layout design, typography, and preparing files for print and digital use, with a strong eye for brand styling and visual hierarchy
Able to manage multiple design and marketing projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively under tight deadlines
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in both visual and written content
Familiar with digital marketing strategies, social media trends, and audience engagement techniques
Collaborative and receptive to creative feedback, with the ability to work cross-functionally across teams
Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills, especially in visual communication
Experienced in managing and organizing brand assets, templates, and creative libraries
Examples of Responsibilities and Duties:
Design Production & Content Creation:
Design print and digital marketing materials including flyers, signage, social graphics, and property assets
Assist with building branded templates and layouts for recurring campaigns
Coordinate with print vendors to prepare and submit press-ready files
Edit photography, video and visual content to improve asset quality to HSL standards
Track and report on the performance of visual assets (e.g., social media graphics, digital ads) to guide creative direction
Campaign Support & Marketing Execution:
Support rollout of marketing campaigns across portfolio properties
Collaborate with the marketing coordinator and graphic designer to deliver on-brand creative materials and promotional collateral
Assist with internal requests from property teams for custom marketing needs
Maintain inventory and coordinate distribution of printed marketing materials and swag
Collect and analyze performance metrics for marketing campaigns, events, and outreach initiatives to help evaluate ROI and inform future strategies
Visual Asset & Brand Management:
Maintain internal asset libraries including logos, photos, fonts, and templates
Uphold brand consistency across all internal and external visual communications
Provide support for digital content updates on websites and social platforms as needed
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator to align messaging, design, and campaign goals
Communicate clearly with property teams to fulfill creative requests and ensure timely delivery
Assist with occasional event support, including collateral and staffing
Provide creative input and feedback during concept development
Other duties as assigned
Travel and Physical Requirements:
Frequent need (25% to 35% of the time) to utilize personal transportation to inspect communities in portfolio and surrounding neighborhood.
Must have valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
Stand and walk or sit alternatively depending on specific needs of the day. Estimate 60% of time is spent on feet and 40% sitting at desk or driving.
Have frequent need (33% to 66% of the time) to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting and presenting property.
Must meet all physical requirements.
