General purpose: The Director of Admission Operations plays a critical leadership role in the Enrollment Management team with direct input and responsibility for recruitment and enrollment goals. This position oversees all aspects of the undergraduate operations and recruitment, ensuring seamless processes, data integrity, and effective use of technology to support recruitment, application management, and strategic decision-making. This position will strategically develop and utilize current and future processes that support the recruitment cycle for all student cohorts and is charged with the task of utilizing technology to provide and support a better experience for future students, while providing leadership and problem solving for departments who work with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
The Director will dynamically lead the efforts of the admissions operations team to strategically develop, document, and integrate processes and data flow to help the College achieve enrollment objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Work closely with Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and Director of Financial Aid to plan, develop, and execute comprehensive recruitment, admission, and enrollment communications strategies in alignment with MICA's strategic plan to meet enrollment objectives, academic program priorities, and financial targets across MICA programs.
Management major enrollment initiative including cycle preparation, recruitment travel, and events; develops follow-up strategies; monitor staff recruitment plans, maintains statistical analysis for recruitment activities, arrange staffing for recruitment events.
Implement and evaluate strategic initiatives to drive academic program specific enrollment.
Lead admission operations and functions, including Slate CRM and communications development, admissions systems, reporting and analytics, and daily operations; assess, and develop the capacity to ensure best practice, professional development, and optimization of technological resources to support recruitment and admission.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies related to admissions, enrollment data, and student communications.
Serve as a secondary technical expert and administrator for the SLATE CRM System managing user accounts, system management, new student applications, communications and basic reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align CRM functionalities with institutional goals and identify areas for system enhancements.
Partner with other institutional stakeholders in the collection and assessment of recruitment and admission metrics.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to align financial aid leveraging strategies with enrollment goals, ensuring an effective mix of merit-based and need-based aid that supports institutional priorities.
Management of the endowed scholarship nomination and budge tracking within the CRM system.
Collaborates with the Associate of Admissions Experience and Events in the planning, and execution of on and off campus events.
Act as the liaison between and maintain strong relationships with other key stakeholders, such as Graduate Admission, Financial Aid, Strategic Communications, Student Affairs, Technology, and Academic Affairs to align technology and recruitment strategies with institutional goals.
Represent the office of admission and MICA at events and campus meetings, including online and on-campus recruitment and yield events, and other engagements.
Supervise the hiring, training, motivating, and performance evaluation process of all direct reports.
Serves on campus committees as assigned and maintains active relationships with key operating units of the institution, such as Student Affairs, Academic Advising, Deans and faculty.
Collaborate with other departments to develop, execute and evaluate all UG Admissions recruitment related website content, communications, presentations and other marketing collateral leveraging the CRM for personalized engagement.
Ensure data-driven decision-making in recruitment strategies, leveraging analytics to refine targeting and messaging.
Perform other related duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of best practices in undergraduate admissions and recruiting
Knowledge of Mac OSX, MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and social media platforms
Excellent management abilities and the judgment and confidence to successfully make and implement decisions
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals
Comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations Minimum qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field
5 or more years of progressive experience in academic administration/admissions programs
Proven leadership ability and skills Preferred Qualifications:
MFA or MA in an arts related field
