POSITION SUMMARY

The CNC Programmer/Operator will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machinery, programming languages, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. They will work in manufacturing environments and collaborate with various teams.

DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate and Set up CNC Machines

Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints

Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly

Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications

Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality

Consider tools required to cut materials and programming machines accordingly

Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines, ensuring they operate smoothly and efficiently

Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening

Train new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs

Measure and examine completed parts to verify conformance to specifications using precision tools like micrometers and calipers

Keep a detailed record of processes, tool usage, and production output

Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment

Collaborate with engineers or designers for custom jobs or to refine manufacturing processes

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required

Must have strong attention to detail

Operated and set up CNC machines to produce precision parts

Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints

Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise

Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential

Should have a positive and professional attitude

Available to work weekends and overtime

Capable of standing for extended periods of time

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for short periods of time

High level of manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination

Strong troubleshooting skills.

Good attitude, quality and workmanship.

Must be able to work overtime as required.

EDUCATION

High School diploma or equivalent

Vocational or technical training in CNC machining or a related field

EXPERIENCE

5+ years’ experience years of hands-on experience operating and programming CNC machines.

Reports to Plant Manager
