For over 35 years, PACO Group has led Construction and Project Management for complex projects across the region. We are now preparing to support the Manhattan Psychiatric Center and Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Center modernization projects on Wards Island-upgrading building systems, life-safety infrastructure, and patient-care spaces to strengthen resilience, ensure compliance, and elevate care for New York's most vulnerable residents. We seek seasoned professionals skilled in stakeholder coordination, schedule and cost control, and field oversight to help deliver these critical improvements safely, on time, and on budget.
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager with over 6 years of experience in building and infrastructure construction, including a minimum of 4 years serving as a Superintendent or Project Engineer on large-scale construction or rehabilitation projects exceeding $5 million.
The ideal candidate will bring advanced knowledge of construction management principles, including contracts, construction documents, and budgeting, along with strong field experience and technical acumen. This role supports the Project Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations and plays a key role in documentation, coordination, and cost/schedule tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the overall management of project execution, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and contract requirements.
Maintain and track Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and other project documentation.
Conduct thorough reviews of contract documents and support design coordination efforts.
Monitor and forecast project schedules and costs, identifying potential risks or delays.
Participate in the review of change orders and contractor payment applications.
Collaborate closely with the field team, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain workflow and compliance with project goals. Required Qualifications:
Minimum 6 years of construction experience, including at least 4 years as a Superintendent or Project Engineer on large-scale projects over $5 million.
Proficient in construction management, contract administration, document control, budgeting, and cost forecasting.
Strong working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, scheduling, and change management processes.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
In lieu of a specialized degree, one of the following certifications is required: PMP, CAPM, or CCM.

Hourly Rate Range: $40 - $50 per hour, commensurate with experience and credentials.
