Overview
Under the general supervision of the Site supervisor, the Assistant site supervisor is responsible for both children and staff in a camp setting. He/she will help to create a stimulating environment that provides opportunities for the children to develop their physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and creative selves. Step in as acting supervisor if Site supervisor is absent.

Responsibilities
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate curriculum, program scheduling, and positive discipline techniques and be able to verbalize this knowledge to parents and co-workers.
Assume responsibility of program in absence of the Site Supervisor.
Model appropriate and positive techniques of interacting with children, parents, and co-workers.
Be aware of program supplies and items that need to be repaired or replaced.
Knowledge of all Safety and Emergency procedures.
Assist with staff training and weekly staff meetings.
Assist in the organizing and managing of all record keeping and of the evaluation process for Day Camp.
Promote program and participate in camp kick off. Qualifications
High school graduate or GED equivalent
AA preferred with Para Educator
At least 2 years work experience with a comparable age group in recreation, physical education, teaching, or childcare.
At least 3 months' experience in supervision.
Current certification in Standard First Aid, Community CPR, and TB Test Benefits
