Summary
The Desktop Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective management and support for the use and maintenance of desktop software, hardware, and peripherals. This position is responsible for managing and supporting the deployment of operating systems and applications, overseeing printers, Microsoft 365 applications, and software licensing for the college. Additionally, the Desktop Administrator leads technical staff in the absence of the Desktop Services Manager, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality service delivery.
Essential Functions

Manages and supports the college's standard operating system development, testing, and deployment.
Communicates with the academic program leadership for faculty and computer lab application needs.
Perform the compilation, testing, and maintenance of the college software packages.
Manages and supports the deployment, user licensing, troubleshooting, and support of college applications.
Manages license acquisitions and maintains legal software/application compliance.
Supports cloud-based applications, including Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Apple device administration.
Manages and supports network printing usability for students, staff, and faculty.
Leads and supports for technology rollouts, upgrades, and special configurations.
Develops and maintains documentation for projects and work processes.
Maintain FERPA and HIPAA compliance for student, faculty, and staff computing environment.
Manages Active Directory computer object organization.
Manages and supports desktop-related local and remote server systems.
Troubleshoot and complete service calls and assist end users.
Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
1. Degree in Network Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or directly related field with two years of direct experience in IT support; OR four years of direct experience in IT support.
2. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
3. Proficient with software/application implementation tools.
4. Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Office Suite.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
8. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.
9. Basic scripting knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
Applicable certifications such as i.e. A+, Network+, Security+, MCP, etc.
Advanced knowledge of basic Network Topologies.
Advanced scripting knowledge.
Advanced knowledge of computers, peripherals, printing devices, and hardware repair.
Project Management experience.
Cloud-based application experience.
