JOIN OUR TEAM AS A LIBRARY ASSOCIATE - AUDIO VISUAL!Responsible for operating the technological aspects of a multipurpose theatre space in support of library programs and events, County meetings, and theatre rentals.
Essential Job Functions
Provides audiovisual support during theatre events, County meetings and other assignments as needed.
Operates theatrical lighting, sound and related equipment and systems during events, programs and meetings.
Sets up equipment including sound, video and lighting equipment, microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, sound and mixing boards for meetings, presentations, theatre events and other events as needed.
Troubleshoots and maintains audiovisual equipment and systems.
Meets with theatre renters and advises them on the operations and capabilities of the space.
Performs maintenance and support functions for a wide variety of audio and video related equipment, hardware, and software.
Maintains inventory of equipment.
Assists with maintenance of the theatre schedule which includes rentals, performances, and meetings taking place in the theatre.
Works independently and as part of a larger team.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects.
Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of theatrical lighting and audio principles, practices, and techniques.
Knowledge of audiovisual equipment and systems, such as soundboards, microphones, speakers, cameras, projectors, and monitors.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
Ability to operate lighting and sound consoles.
Ability to resolve technical issues as they arise during performances, events, and meetings.
Ability to work with vendors to troubleshoot any issues and/or request upgrades or new equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships with internal customers, County officials and the general public in a professional manner.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Minimum Requirements
PHYSICAL SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication. Must be able to work evenings and weekends. On call responsibility and occasional off hours work may be required.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree. One (1) year of experience as an audio visual support technician.
In-House Employees: This position qualifies for DAP.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
