Dimensions of Job:
The Quality Engineer will work with all Quality Mangers and labs to maintain a fully functional and optimized Quality Management System (QMS). In addition, this role will be responsible for managing projects with other cross functional departments to continuously improve KaMin’s QMS. Examples include the development of Standard Operating Procedures, standardization of lab testing procedures, and equipment correlation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Accountable for ensuring customer related issues are addressed in a timely fashion and providing supporting documentation to Commercial for communication with Customers
Responsible for the maintenance of QMS repositories, including entry and updating as required to ensure documented information is captured and current
Accountable for the preparation of global quality data for analysis and observation of trends
Define new or revised SOPs that encompass Global and Plant level documentation
Responsible for implementation, maintenance, and training of the QMS at site level to ensure compliance with applicable standards
Serve as an internal auditor for KaMin, provide necessary support during external audits, and ensure all corrective actions are completed
Serve as a facilitator in problem resolution across all sites
Provide support to other departments/plants through testing/verification and assist with troubleshooting as needed
Responsible for leading problem-solving techniques to ensure root cause(s) are identified and appropriate corrective actions are identified and implemented
Competencies:
A minimum of a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is preferred plus 2-5 years of experience working in a production or engineering environment.
Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus
Strong statistical analysis skills
Strong verbal/written communications and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
Experience in manufacturing plants and processes
Self- motivated and able to demonstrate leadership, team, and individual contributor accomplishments
Working Conditions:
Works in an office and plant environment. Often works outdoors causing exposure to seasonal temperature variations. Exposed to chemicals, dust, fumes, allergens, noise and radiation.
