Job Title: Electromechanical Assembler

Job Description

As an Electromechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for performing a variety of electrical and mechanical tasks. Electrical tasks include wiring, soldering, reading drawings, and schematics, as well as cutting and tinning wires. Mechanical tasks involve sanding, lapping, mixing chemicals, encapsulation, reading mechanical drawings, and torqueing. You will read work orders, follow production drawings, sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions to perform your duties. You will position and align parts in specified relationships to each other using jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices.

Responsibilities

Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, solder, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.

Mount assembled components such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets on chassis panels or printed wiring boards.

Connect component lead wires to printed circuits or route and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.

Manufacture cables and wiring harnesses using copper wire, co-axial cable, twin-axial cable, and fiber-optic cable.

Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.

Assemble and attach hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.

Perform intermediate assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color coding parts and assemblies.

Conduct online inspections to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.Essential Skills

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Proficiency in soldering and electronic assembly.

Experience with assembly blueprints.

Understanding of electrical and wiring assembly processes.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in manufacturing cables and wiring harnesses.

Knowledge of mounting assembled components on wiring boards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Barbara, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
