Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

As a machine operator, you will play a crucial role in the production process by mixing and blending feed mixes using a computer program. You will manage the input of various ingredients, ensuring precise quantities for each mix, which could involve up to five or more different components. Your primary responsibility will involve processing soybeans, separating proteins, and ensuring they are prepared for shipping to be incorporated into animal food. This role may require manual handling of ingredients, including climbing 2-3 stories to fill hoppers.

Responsibilities

Mix and blend feed mixes through a computer program.

Operate machinery to process soybeans and separate proteins.

Manage semi-truck deliveries and ingredient processing.

Perform manual fills by climbing 2-3 stories to dump ingredients into hoppers.

Ensure all processes are completed efficiently and safely.Essential Skills

Experience in production and machine operation.

General labor skills including assembly and packaging.

Inspection and packing proficiency.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Prior mechanical experience on a farm is preferred.

Work Environment

You will work in a dusty, open-air facility with frequent activity from tanker and dump trucks. Flexibility in shift work is required, with training on the first shift from 7am to 3pm. The facility operates around the clock with multiple shifts: 11am-7pm, 3pm-11pm, 7pm-3am, and 11pm-7am.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riceville, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
