Job Description
We are hiring a shop helper for our metal fabrication shop! This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with prior manufacturing experience who are eager to dive deeper into the metal fabrication and industrial manufacturing processes. The role involves assisting welders and machinists, including operating punch and press machines after training.
Responsibilities
Measure parts accurately
Operate punch and drill press machines
Complete documentation related to scrap or completed parts
Follow directions from supervisors, welders, and machine operators
Perform shop cleaning and daily opening/closing tasks
Use a tape measure and basic shop math to measure, cut, and fabricate parts
Maintain strong attendance, reliability, and eagerness to learnEssential Skills
Previous manufacturing experience
Desire to work in a shop environment
Reliability and positive attitude verified by references
Proficiency in measuring tools, including reading a tape measure and performing basic shop math
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
Experience with production and machine operationAdditional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with layouts, fabrication, grinding, assembly, material handling, general labor, and weld assistance

Employees typically see a pay raise upon conversion. We offer a tuition reimbursement program and eligibility for benefits after 90 days. Additionally, our bonus program/profit-sharing allows you to receive substantial monthly bonuses if you are in good standing, with bonuses ranging between $600 and $1000 over the last six months.
Work Environment
The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level is usually moderate to loud. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 6 am to 2:30 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Forest Grove, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
