Job Title: 2nd Shift CNC Lathe Machinist

Job Description

The CNC Machinist will independently set up and operate 2, 3, 4, and/or 5 axis CNC machines as well as conventional machines to produce intricate aerospace parts. This role requires advanced cross-training flexibility and proficiency with a wide range of automated CNC machines.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate 2, 3, 4, and/or 5 axis CNC machines and conventional machines.

Perform complex setups without assistance on multiple machines, including checking or changing chucking jaws, tools, and rotating offsets.

Conduct pre-operational inspections of machinery.

Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and dispatch specifications to determine work piece dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

Fully operate multiple machines as needed, including CNC and conventional lathes.

Inspect finished work pieces to ensure compliance with specifications.Essential Skills

Minimum of 3 years CNC machining experience.

Preferably 3 years of conventional machining experience.

Proficiency in setting up and running both manual and CNC machines.

Experience with metals such as stainless steel, Inconel, and titanium.

Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Experience with 2 or 5 axis machines is preferred.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with specific equipment such as Okuma, Hitachi Seiki.

Familiarity with controls including Mazatrol, Okuma, and Fanuc.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a large, non-union manufacturing environment with approximately 25-27 machinists across three shifts. The company has recently undergone modernization to create a contemporary and eco-friendly industrial setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SANTA FE SPRINGS, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.00/hr.
