Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

The machine operator is responsible for preparing machines for shift start-up and product changes, operating auxiliary equipment to produce various types and sizes of manufactured products, and ensuring quality and production goals are met. The role also includes troubleshooting equipment as needed and performing basic preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

Monitor and operate processing equipment for production with minimal supervision.

Assist higher-level operators and train lower-level operators.

Use measuring equipment to ensure quality specifications are met.

Operate material handling and processing equipment required for production and replenishment of raw materials.

Update CIP boards using the shop floor management system.

Spot malfunctions with equipment controls and assist with repairs.

Communicate with process and tooling technicians for root cause analysis.

Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.

Check workstations for low supplies and transport materials using necessary equipment.

Notify supervisor or material handler when supplies are at reorder levels.

Identify raw material types and part numbers.

Review bill of materials to identify required materials and communicate shortages.

Test and inspect produced products for quality specifications.

Report non-conforming products to supervision or quality personnel.

Isolate and rework items not meeting specifications.

Input accurate data into the quality control system.

Identify raw materials not meeting quality requirements.

Perform duties shared with other employees, including participating in 6S activities, workshops, and cross-functional training.Essential Skills

Knowledge of basic reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Good manual dexterity skills for working with small parts.

Ability to perform repetitive functions.

Effective communication skills.

Ability to interpret work orders, instructions, blueprints, and drawings.

Commitment to superior service and positive company image.

Adherence to high standards of quality and performance.Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, or 6–12 months of related experience.

Manufacturing experience and mechanical aptitude.

Experience with mechanical assembly, repetitive motions, and fast-paced work environments.

Experience with machine operation, including brake press and punch press, is beneficial but not required.

Work Environment

This position is located in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility, ensuring a comfortable and clean environment. The role involves fast-paced work with repetitive motions, requiring the operator to be on their feet all day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Mcpherson, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
