Qualifications for this Career Opportunity

Knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), Social Security Act (SSA), State plans for CHIP and Medicaid, Administrative Rules of Montana (ARM), Montana Code Annotated (MCA) and other Federal and State rules and regulations.

Knowledge of public assistance eligibility policies and regulations, and related computer systems.

Ability to gather, verify, and analyze eligibility and financial data.

Meet minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, human services or related degree.

Two years’ experience determining or reviewing public assistance eligibility.

Equivalent combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor, and must adhere to state policy.

This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2025, and July 1, 2026.

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Office of Inspector General, Program Compliance.

Job Overview: The Medicaid Quality Control (MEQC) and Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM) Team Lead is responsible for assisting with the development, training, and implementation of program policy, establishing unit goals, objectives, priorities, monitoring, and accurate reporting. The position ensures compliance with Federal and State laws, regulations, and requirements. Acts as secondary contact for MEQC and PERM. The position is responsible for working with the State CHIP and Medicaid Program staff to revise procedures to address errors. This position also organizes, tracks, and monitors the PERM Federal audit, including information requests, resolution of errors, and maintains PERM data.
