What we’re looking for\:

The successful applicant will be a recent graduate from law school or a licensed attorney with exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills. Elite performance in law school, participation on a law review or moot court board, or publication of a noteworthy article is preferred. Prior clerkship experience will be considered positively. The ability to work independently, collaboratively, and efficiently is required. The successful applicant will be expected to perform his or her duties on a daily basis in the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center in Columbus.

Background Check

The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check. Criminal convictions do not necessarily preclude an applicant from consideration for a position. What You'll Do:

Law clerks and judicial attorneys review and analyze arguments presented in a variety of motions, memoranda, and briefs involving all areas of the Supreme Court’s jurisdiction under Article IV, Section 2(B) of the Ohio Constitution. In addition, law clerks and judicial attorneys research and prepare initial drafts of merit opinions at the direction of the Chief Justice.

Chief Justice Sharon L. Kennedy of the Supreme Court of Ohio is accepting applications for the position of Law Clerk or Judicial Attorney in her chambers. The position will commence on September 1, 2026, and will run through August 30, 2027.
