Job Description

A top client is searching for a Site Accountant to work in Sterling, MA. As the Site Accountant, you will report into the COO and serve on the management team. Additionally, you will be responsible for month-end close accounting processes, payroll, contract administration, project analysis, assistance provided for external audits, state and federal tax preparation, and the preparation of the financial statements. The position will partner with various functional areas including engineering, purchasing, IT, and sales. The role requires a highly motivated, results-oriented individual with a background in financial accounting.

As the Site Accountant you will:

· Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing financial data

· Manage full cycle of accounts receivables & cash application (processing incoming checks and ACH/Wires) including analysis and reconciliation. Follow up on past due accounts as needed. Assist with efforts to move customers to electronic payment.

· Manage full cycle of accounts payables (in AP automation tool Ramp) including analysis and reconciliation. Assist with efforts to replace manual check with electronic payment. Coordinate year end 1099 processing.

· Maintain the Percentage of Completion Excel file to support month-end journal entries for revenue recognition and cost of goods sold (COGS)Process weekly payroll and 401k administration to ~15 employees, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payments and deductions. Record journal entries along with any necessary payroll accrual entries

· Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation

· Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

· Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to ensure proper funding of operations

· Contribute to process improvements and initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting, operations, and purchasing departments

· Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance

· Assist with external audit requests and ensure compliance with lender requirements

· Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights and recommendations to management

· Analyze project level financials and prepare ad hoc deliverables to support decision making

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address accounting inquiries and resolve discrepancies

· Maintain fixed asset records and perform depreciation calculations

To be successful in the role you must possess:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred

· 4+ years relevant experience in public audit, corporate finance/accounting, preferably with an Engineering or other project-based company

· Experience in percentage of completion (POC) or project-based accounting required

· Excellent knowledge of GAAP principles for timely and accurate reporting

· Experience with accounting software / ERP, NetSuite preferred

· Experience in HRIS systems, ADP preferred

· Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, influence and partner/collaborate with business leaders in multiple functional areas

· Advanced level Excel and Microsoft Office skills are required

· Ability to work on-site 5 days a week

· Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, multi-task and follow through on completion of significant company projects
