Environmental Specialist, Hurlburt AFB, FL

Job Description

We are seeking to place an Environmental Specialist to support programs at Hurlburt AFB, FL.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Environmental professional to provide on-site support.

Management of hazardous materials, hazardous waste collection, labeling, storage and shipments

Use of EESOH-MIS for tracking hazardous waste and hazardous materials, approving processes, preparing shipments, data pulls and ad-hoc reporting

Support of Hazardous Material (HM) program, including training

Monthly and quarterly HW and HM shop inspections

Assist with compilation of monthly report of office activities

Customer support including answering phones and emails

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Associates degree or higher in environmental engineering, sciences, or other related area.

3 years of experience in environmental compliance, restoration or other related support.

Working knowledge of Federal environmental statutes and State-specific regulations pertaining to HW and HM

Familiarity with OSHA, Air Force, and Installation Storage, Handling, and Transportation regulations.

Ability to drive forklifts, trucks, and operate warehouse tools and equipment (i.e. drum lifts, pallet jack, etc.)

Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency with MS Office applications (Word and Excel) is required

Individuals already possessing an adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) are preferred or the ability to successfully pass a federal agency background check is required

Prior Air Force experience preferred

Valid Driver’s License required
