Responsibilities
This temporary position will be working on a special project, and ss an integral member of the Loan Operations Department, will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to property taxes and insurances related to real estate-secured loans held at the bank.
Essential Responsibilities:
Review accounts with property taxes and insurances that are escrowed to ensure they adhere to federal regulations
Prepare remittance for property taxes as due
Prepare remittance for hazard insurance premiums on a monthly basis
Prepare remittance for mortgage insurance premiums as due
Research and maintenance tax data through the banks tax servicing vendor
Prepare documentation for the creation of an escrow account for existing loans
Prepare and send regulatory letters when cancelling property taxes and insurance
Process escrow payment transactions and maintenance the system accordingly
Function as a resource for branch personnel with escrow questions; communicate with customers, insurance companies and real property tax collectors regarding escrowed accounts
Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with, all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion
Qualifications
Education, Training and Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Associates Degree in business related field or equivalent work experience preferred
All applicants must be 18 years of age or older
Skills:
Strong attention to detail as well as proven organizational and analytical skills
Highly organized, with the ability to multi-task
Ability to prioritize and work effectively under time constraints
Above average written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate to strong computer skills, including ability to create and manipulate data and spreadsheets in Excel
Must be able to consistently demonstrate the Company’s core values: a strong work ethic, integrity, respect for others, responsibility, transparency and humility
Experience:
Preference will be given to a candidate with at least one (1) year experience in banking and knowledge of lending products and services. Mortgage experience is a plus.
