The Lead QA Tester is responsible for leading quality assurance efforts across cloud services, mobile applications, and embedded systems. This role will work closely with software engineers, QA professionals, and DevOps teams to ensure product releases meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test strategy, automation, and cross-platform validation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Product Testing
Conduct thorough testing of software across a range of real-world configurations including mobile devices, networks, and cloud environments.
Identify, log, and track bugs throughout the software development lifecycle.
Collaborate with development teams to determine root causes of defects and verify fixes.
Continuously improve test coverage, execution efficiency, and feedback loops.
2. Test Strategy & Planning
Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for web, mobile, API, and IoT components.
Define test strategies aligned with product goals and customer requirements, covering functional, regression, and edge-case scenarios.
3. Automation & Tooling
Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
Monitor automation execution, troubleshoot test failures, and collaborate with developers for timely resolution.
4. Production Quality & Release Management
Validate production readiness through comprehensive pre-release testing and quality gate enforcement.
Support deployment rollouts with smoke testing, release sign-offs, and post-release validation activities.
Work with SRE/DevOps to monitor live production systems and respond to customer-impacting issues.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a test leadership role overseeing QA initiatives across platforms.
Minimum 3 years of experience in software QA with emphasis on test design, planning, and execution.
Proven expertise in automated testing tools such as:
Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Postman, JMeter, Mocha, Cucumber, BrowserStack, Charles Proxy.
Extensive experience in testing iOS and Android mobile applications.
Strong skills in debugging, troubleshooting, and cross-functional communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with embedded systems and IoT product validation.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and QA processes in CI/CD environments.
Understanding of performance and load testing techniques.
