They are seeking a skilled Structured Cabling Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems. This role requires expertise in jack and patch panel terminations, wire dressing, rack mounting, and grounding. The ideal candidate will have experience working with both copper and fiber optic cabling in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Install and terminate Cat5E, Cat6, and Cat6A jacks and patch panels.
Perform structured cabling installations, including wire dressing, rack mounting, and grounding.
Work with both multimode (MM) and single-mode (SM) fiber optic cabling.
Ensure compliance with building, fire, and electrical codes as they apply to structured cabling.
Use and maintain hand and power tools required for the job.
Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing OSHA-approved boots.
Travel to job sites daily with reliable transportation.
Maintain a professional and organized workspace.
Comply with background checks and drug screenings.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of experience in the communications industry.
Ability to terminate and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling.
Familiarity with BICSI standards (preferred).
Basic computer skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and insurance.
Willingness to travel out of state (50% or more).
Ability to work overtime, night shifts, and weekends as needed.
Top Secret Clearance preferred.
Must be willing to travel occasionally and have reliable transportation.
