Volunteer Florida is currently looking for a Financial Analyst I to join our team. If you possess great organizational skills, have the ability to set goals and priorities, and have the desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative atmosphere, this is the position for you!
Position Summary:
Position responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
Accounting data entry for budgets and expenditures for local, state, federal, and private funding, contracts, and grants;
Reviewing and examining documentation on a virtual platform to ensure accuracy, calculations, proper authorization and conformance with grant agreements and state and federal regulations;
Maintaining financial databases and virtual filing systems;
Explaining billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors and sub-grantees;
Leading and participating in sub-grantee audits, which includes planning, executing, directing and/or completing financial audits and;
Developing and leading sub-grantee and internal training programs.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and a minimum of two years of experience in accounting and budgeting, or other equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
Attention CPA candidates: This position reports to a CPA, which can count toward the experience requirements to obtain your CPA license.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications, preference given to individuals with Abila MIP software experience.
Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
Strong analytical and auditing skills.
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
Detail oriented and organized in work, ability to meet assigned deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and flexible work environment.
Knowledge of State of Florida operating procedures regarding grants, personnel, fiscal management, budget development, program operation and travel.
Knowledge of federal grant procedures as well as the OMB Circulars related to non-profit state and local government grants.
