? About the Role

C.J. Miller LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Part-Time Payroll Assistant to support our weekly payroll operations in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This is an on-site role based in Maryland, ideal for someone experienced with payroll systems and looking for a flexible part-time schedule.

? Responsibilities

Process weekly payroll with accuracy and timeliness

Review and reconcile employee timesheets; coordinate with supervisors for corrections

Handle certified payroll reporting and related documentation for compliance

Ensure adherence to all federal, state (MD/PA), and local wage and hour laws

Support payroll setup for new hires and process final pay for terminations

Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and deductions

Assist with audits, year-end reporting, and payroll documentation

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Associate's degree in Accounting, HR, or related field preferred

1–2 years of payroll or administrative experience (certified payroll a plus)

Experience with HRIS platforms (Paycom, Workday, UKG preferred)

Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook

Part-time, non-exempt role (3 days/week: Mon, Tue, Thu or Fri)

Daily hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

On-site work required
