We are looking for a talented, energetic, Senior Electrical Engineer with at least 10 years of experience and a strong digital background to join our team and help bring our engineering services to new and existing clients. In this role you will collaborate directly with our partners and developers to perform hardware tests on-site at a local medical device company, preparing to enter verification and validation testing.

Based in picturesque Colorado, Cardinal Peak, a subsidiary of FPT, is a project and product development engineering firm helping our clients solve hard problems in the Healthcare, IoT and audio/video market spaces. For over 20 years, we have excelled at delivering complete end-to-end solutions across server and web environments, mobile applications, embedded software, hardware, and more! This will be a full-time contract (1099) hire with possibility of converting to full time (W2). We are looking for candidates located in the Denver Metro Area who can work onsite at our partner's office.

Responsibilities and Duties:

● Perform engineering confidence testing on circuitry on new designs.

● Perform EMC scans and characterization testing.

● Perform complex protocol analysis (CANBUS, Gigabit Ethernet, LVDS for displays, ADC's).

● Work directly with the customer to understand and test hardware functionality

● Responsible for the development of Test protocols and reports.

● Must work cooperatively with a cross functional team of Electrical Engineers, Firmware

Engineers, Software Engineers, and Program Managers to ensure team and product success.

Requirements and Qualifications:

● BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

● 10+ years of experience in hardware design and development.

● Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, signal integrity, and power

management.

● Experience with microcontrollers, and communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet).

● Knowledge of thermal management, EMI/EMC, and DFM/DFT principles.

● Bonus points if you have design verification experience!
