Position Summary

The People Services Generalist will typically act as the 1st point of contact for People Services-related queries from associates. The PS Generalist will have primarily administrative responsibilities, helping to plan and administer important functions such as onboarding, recruiting, and workers' compensation administration. This role will also assist in planning and administrative duties related to associate engagement (celebrations, milestones, etc.). The PS Generalist will manage the company’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and support Columbus Operations through all intake of hiring and onboarding an associate.

Job duties and responsibilities

Onboarding & HRIS Administration:

Reviews and approves Columbus Operations and JDF (Jane’s Dough Foods) associate onboardings through Paycor (HRIS) daily, ensuring new hires are hired timely and correctly and notifying the hiring manager of any corrections needed to complete the hiring process; partners with Payroll each payroll close to ensure associates are hired to receive their initial pay.

Enters general data entry for Paycor (transfers, manager changes, granting manager level access etc.), notifying Payroll and/or Total Rewards as needed.

Maintains HRIS system data and associate record data integrity, tracking any missing documentation and ensuring forms are completed and uploaded.

Performs general administrative duties, including preparing reports and uploading documents into associate files in HRIS.

Recruiting & ATS Administration:

Manages company ATS; works with ATS representatives to ensure full capability of system.

Responsible for sourcing and administration of Restaurant Manager applicant flow and JDF hiring process.

Completes reference checks, background checks, motor-vehicle reports, and drug screens.

Generates official internal documents such as job postings and offer letters for external and internal promotions or new hires.

Distributes weekly staffing report and candidate sourcing metrics for Columbus Operations.

Sponsors and manages budget for job boards for all 51 locations at Donatos.

Generalist Duties as Assigned:

Prepares reporting for monthly People Newsletter (milestones, birthdays, promotions) and assists with scheduling celebration events.

Responsible for the day-to-day administration of Worker's Compensation Claims, escalating claims when needed.

Assists in various audit projects, including but not limited to EEO-1 Reporting, MVR audits, I-9 audits, and tipped associate audits.

Assists with leave of absence administration, tracking documentation and creating leave packets as assigned.

Partners with Associate Relations Specialist to prepare quarterly/annual reporting for Columbus Operations and contacts associates with questions/concerns.

Manages administration of milestone service awards, submitting relevant information to 3rd party provider and following up if an award is not received or an associate is not eligible.

Other projects assigned.

Work Arrangement Options

Donatos has identified this position is eligible for the following work arrangements:

Full-Time Onsite: The Associate in the position will work all regularly scheduled days onsite.

Hybrid: Position requires the physical presence of an Associate to complete some duties or collaboration, balanced with solo work that does not require on-site resources or relationships. The Associate in this position will work 3 regularly scheduled days onsite, 2 days off-site weekly.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid work do not automatically qualify the Associate to perform in a hybrid work arrangement.

Minimum requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in HR or Business or equivalent work experience

Physical Requirements

None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).

Previous Experience

1-3 years work experience in a related role or participation in a similar internship program

Experience with cross-functional projects

Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills

Must embody and provide customer service that is everyday exceptional

Excellent skills in organization and time management

Experience with Paycor or other HRIS systems a plus

Completion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/leave administration highly preferred
