We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to lead and scale our mechanical contracting company. The ideal candidate will oversee the operations of our Construction Division, Service Department, and in-house ductwork fabrication plant, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and quality as the company grows. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for aligning teams, improving workflows, and driving sustainable growth across all divisions.
Key Responsibilities Operations Management
Oversee day-to-day operations across construction projects, service calls, and the sheet metal ductwork plant
Ensure project delivery on time, within scope, and budget, while maintaining quality standards
Implement process improvements and workflow optimization across departments
Coordinate scheduling, resource allocation, and labor management for field teams and fabrication shop
Financial & Strategic Leadership
Manage department budgets and P&L, tracking profitability across service, construction, and fabrication
Set and achieve financial targets, margin goals, and KPIs
Collaborate with ownership on strategic planning and business expansion initiatives
Evaluate and implement cost control measures and vendor efficiency
Team & Culture
Lead and mentor departmental managers (project management, service coordination, fabrication shop foreman)
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Support hiring, onboarding, and training strategies for field and office personnel
Customer & Partner Relations
Maintain strong relationships with GCs, vendors, and key clients
Represent the company in industry organizations, trade shows, and networking opportunities
Ensure quality service and customer satisfaction across all channels
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
7+ years of leadership experience in mechanical contracting, including HVAC construction and service
Strong understanding of ductwork manufacturing, commercial HVAC systems, and construction processes
Proven track record in managing multi-division operations and driving business growth
Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Proficiency in project management tools, estimating software, and ERP systems
