Job Description

Environmental Finance is hiring for a new Director of Asset Management to direct our team of asset managers for our Renewable Energy Tax Credit portfolio.

Responsibilities include:

Provides leadership, guidance, oversight and training to a team of Assistant Directors and Senior Asset Managers. Counsels and evaluates direct reports.

Makes decisions in a timely manner, leveraging technical expertise, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, financial analysis skills, negotiation skills, knowledge of internal processes and policies, etc. Must be able to multi-task and drive results (projects, workflow, deal issues), ensuring that portfolio risk monitoring and the workout and restructuring of troubled assets is done in accordance with credit standards.

Should demonstrate strategic mindset, taking a broad view and demonstrating a multi-dimensional approach to situations. Must be able to make meaning of goals and objectives to motivate, engage and drive results by explaining why we do things.

Excellent communication skills in all directions, keeping leadership apprised of deal or relationship issues and trends in the portfolio, along with any deterioration in ongoing asset quality and performance in accordance with credit policy, and making recommendations to top management, including how and when to advocate for something.

Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills. Develops and maintains relationships with internal partners. Leads cross functional projects with goal of continuous improvement, learning, increased alignment, and consistency across the enterprise

Is responsible for ensuring that credit policy standards and compliance requirements are met, acts as Business Process Owner for SOX controls and various critical reporting deliverables, and oversees monthly financial forecasting.

Ensures the portfolio is maintained in an Audit-ready status, acts as lead in periodic internal and external Audit reviews.

Critical Functions: The Director is a leader within the Asset management team providing:

People Leadership – coach, mentor, develop staff

Process Leadership – develop, implement, ensure consistency of processes, drive results

Thought Leadership – ability to think critically and strategically about risks and how to achieve goals while balancing customer experience

Basic Qualifications

- Typically Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

- Typically 12 or more years of related experience

- Typically five or more years of management experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred

6+ years of Renewable Energy Tax Credit (RETC) experience

Thorough understanding of tax credit investment management

Advanced knowledge of structured finance, legal documentation, accounting, and financial statement analysis

Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong relationship management abilities

Highly motivated, able to work independently, and with acute attention to detail

Knowledge of RETC preferred

Supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Location Expectations

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week, and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $164,390.00 - $193,400.00 - $212,740.00
