Job Description

Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, has an opening for a Vertical Grinder for our 2nd shift operations working full-time Monday-Thursdays and may require working on Friday based on workloads.

Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. Advanced manufacturing technologies are utilized at our climate controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility.

**Starting pay is $26.91/hour + 5% Shift Differential

A day in the life of a Vertical Grinder

operates Blanchard grinding machines to

grind a wide variety of flat surface parts and materials to specific dimensions. Sets up and operates vertical rotary surface grinders, and selects proper grinding segments, speeds, and feeds best suited to accomplish jobs. Uses fixtures, gages, and other measuring instruments to hold close tolerances.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, one to two years related experience and/or training, strong math skills, ability to use precision measuring instruments, strong communication and basic computer skills.
