POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the successful day to day operations for our Johns Island, James Island, Summerville, and Downtown locations as well as overseeing the day to day operations of pet sitting.

This job includes a base salary plus a quarterly bonus based on subjective topics we will disclose upon hiring.

Objectives:

Oversee the operations of the company, including location management personnel decisions, developing, and mentoring leadership, and driving financial results, while upholding the mission and vision of Dog Tired.

Collaborate with Owners in executing Dog Tireds organizational vision and operational strategy.

Anticipate personnel development needs by planning and executing a detailed leadership succession model.

Work with Owner(s) to Translate company financial objectives into actionable goals for performance and growth by implementing organization-wide goal setting for location teams and key leaders within them.

Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met.

Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention.

Adhere to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action.

Responsibilities:

Identify pain points within operational processes. Make detailed, action-oriented recommendations to Owners. Should owners agree to move forward, ensure successful implementation of recommendations.

Proof and process payroll for all Dog Tired Locations.

Monitor Pet Sitting Manager to ensure all scheduling requests are addressed in a timely manner.

Ensure each location has adequate supplies.

Work with store managers as wells the marketing department to develop party plans and brainstorm new specials and events.

Serve as liaison for communication between Owners and operating locations.

Ensure proficiency with Gingr Pet Care Software to effectively monitor occupancy, service delivery, contracts, and financial performance.

Monitor surveys in Gingr and Time To Pet. Address any issues and bring urgent matters to owner in timely manner.

Monitor facilities to ensure excellent physical conditions for dog and staff safety as #1 priority.

Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and establish company-wide safety protocols.

Work with Owners to create S.M.A.R.T. goals for the top line business and execute on those goals.

Track weekly add-on sales to encourage buy-in from managers and desk personnel and motivate them to stay on target.

Oversee Reservationist Specialist, General Managers, & Pet Sitting Manager and their duties & training

Work with owners to monitor KPIs.

Serve as liaison for any issues between ADP & Owners regarding any HR Issues.

Initiate onboarding of new employees in Paychex including I-9 completion (< 3 BDs), W-4, background check, Non-Compete, and all relevant signatures.

Ensure all employee files are up to date quarterly - job offers, job descriptions, fav sheets, I-9s, write ups, termination letters etc.

Deal with Workers Comp cases and Unemployment cases as necessary with Owners.

Ensure managers complete employee Touch Bases and Career Path discussions: track employees to ensure they are progressing and happy monthly.

Meet with each manager to review goals, staff training schedules, and report to Owners monthly.

Resolve any client conflicts in a professional and timely manner and notify Owners of major issues that involve refunds, store credits, or negative reviews.

Foster community connection as an ambassador for Dog Tired through veterinary services, apartment visits, open houses, and participation at local Dog events.

Commit to positive engagement with employees, managers, canine guests, and human clients to ensure motivated employees and a highly satisfied client base.

Network with industry peers and potential clients to generate future growth opportunities on both a local and national level.

Lead and oversee weather emergency situations including hurricanes, tornados, & ice storms and emergency evacuations of pets and employees with Owners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

Associates degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.

Minimum of 3 years managerial experience with emphasis on Operations Management.

Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, and employee management.

Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.

Problem solving: Identifies simple problems/probable causes; makes the necessary changes to solve the problem.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Animal Care: Must love animals.

The typical noise level for this position is moderate (i.e. dog barking).

This position requires the ability to sit/stand for an extended period of time.

Lift up to 50lbs.

Work/type on a computer for the majority of the day.

Hear and talk to answer/make phone calls on a daily basis.

See clearly at a distance of 20 inches or less to read documents, view computer screen.

Insure appropriate dog behavior.

Able to tolerate exposure to dust, pet dander and common cleaning chemicals.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year depending on experience
