Position: Oklahoma Christian University invites applications for a part-time Concurrent Enrollment Advisor to begin in July 2025. This staff member will serve as the primary contact and academic advisor with an assigned group of concurrently enrolled high school students. Reporting to the Director of Online Student Advising, the mentor will promote recruitment and enrollment of high school students seeking college courses through proactive communication, prompt responses to student issues and student-initiated communication, managing concurrent student enrollment data and academic records, and troubleshooting academic and administrative barriers for students. This may be a remote position. Day-to-day activities may vary but will include communicating with a variety of university staff and faculty to coordinate services and support for concurrent students.
Primary Qualifications:
Earned bachelor’s degree required
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and the ability to communicate and positively engage students and colleagues across racial, gender, and cultural barriers
Active engagement in a life of Christian faith and service which includes membership in a local church
Tech-savvy and familiar with learning management systems and other tools for student data management
An active listener able to turn suggestions into actionable advice and implement changes
Highly developed communication skills (including verbal, written, and interpersonal skills)
Experience in education a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage a 20-hour work week remotely
Create course plans as needed for mentees
Send a communication to advisees weekly
Track advisees’ progress in the advisee dashboard
Help students enroll each term
Advise students on course sequencing and scheduling
Adjust graduation plans after failed courses or changes in enrollment
Collaborate with Admissions to recruit concurrent students as FTCs
Reply to emails within 24 hours
Track communication and retention concerns in the university reporting system
Connect students with campus services or academic support when needed
Communicate the University’s spiritual mission through prayer with and for students and sharing Scripture in communication
Attend weekly team meetings
Other related administrative duties as assigned
