Scrum Master / Project Manager

Overview:
Our client is seeking a technical Scrum Master/Project Manager to support its IT Application Development team. This role is responsible for delivering software that drives business value and improves the experience for both internal stakeholders and member end users. The selected candidate will lead a cross-functional team—including developers, testers, and analysts—in the modernization and transformation of data warehouse and reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of NRECA, the Scrum Master/Project Manager will be responsible for:
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
Serve as a trusted partner to business stakeholders and IT teams across the organization.
Provide exceptional customer service and proactive communication of risks, dependencies, and project progress.
Project Ownership and Delivery:
Take full ownership of assigned projects, tasks, issues, and impediments—seeing them through to completion in alignment with NRECA’s project management standards and guidelines.
Lead multiple scrum teams that support project-based work, ongoing operations, and continuous improvement efforts.
Agile Facilitation and Implementation:
Promote and integrate agile methodologies and best practices into team operations.
Guide work breakdown, collaboration techniques, and sprint/release planning to align with project goals and team performance.
Scrum and Agile Ceremony Management:
Facilitate and participate in all core agile events including stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and stakeholder demos.
Manage team artifacts and maintain organization of iterative deliverables.
Technical and Business Analysis Support:
Interpret business process and system interaction diagrams.
Translate business needs into technical requirements and support the transition to solution design.
Encourage analytical discussions throughout the project lifecycle.
Documentation and Tooling:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation such as JIRA stories and tasks, acceptance criteria, architecture diagrams, design artifacts, and project wikis.
Leverage tools including JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, and PowerPoint to support project tracking and communication.
Performance Tracking:
Monitor and utilize agile flow metrics as defined by NRECA to evaluate team performance and project health.
Required Skills and Experience:
3 to 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in agile project management for technical initiatives.
Proficient in interpreting business process and system interaction diagrams.
Skilled in converting business requirements into actionable technical designs.
Effective in fostering analytical and collaborative team discussions.
Strong organizational and communication skills to manage agile ceremonies and project artifacts.
Proven ability to communicate project risks, dependencies, and status clearly to stakeholders.
Experience working in close collaboration with both business and IT teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Agile/Scrum training or certification.
Experience with data warehouse and reporting systems.
Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams.
