Job Description
Responsible for the custodial duties of the Cooperative's buildings for optimal efficiency, employee comfort and safety, positive public image, and compliance with applicable laws and Cooperative policies.
This position will travel to all office locations including: Southport, Wewahitchka, Parker and Tyndall Air Force Base.
Must have, and maintain a valid driver's license. Must have the ability to successfully pass Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative's employment entrance examination and drug screen. Must have the ability to maintain a security clearance to enter government facilities (Tyndall AFB).
This position requires the incumbent to be on call at all times.
This positions key functions will include but are not limited to:
Keeps all floors in Cooperative buildings vacuumed, mopped, and polished. Clean walls, windows, and office furniture. This includes all offices, Lobbies, Kitchens, and Boardrooms.
Clean, sanitize, and polish all fixtures including toilet bowls, urinals, mirrors, bathroom stall walls, and hand basins. Inspect plumbing equipment to ensure proper operation, report to maintenance for repairs as needed.
Removes all wastepaper and trash from the office daily. This includes all individual offices, bathrooms, kitchens, lobbies, and boardrooms.
Re-stock all paper towel dispensaries located in all office buildings.
Sweep and maintain all outside entrances. This includes emptying all ashtrays outside of buildings and vacuuming rugs.
Clean all air vents and AC return grills.
Clean all baseboards, kick plates and doors.
Clean areas of the building exterior that are easily reached without the use of a ladder such as porches and stoops. (Example: rinsing off with a water hose, or sweeping down spider webs, dirt dobber, and wasp nests.)
Scan the outside perimeter yard, picking up any trash.
Completes cleaning tasks at all four GCEC Office Locations (Southport, Wewahitchka, Parker & Tyndall Air Force Base Operations Office) twice per week at a minimum. Schedule and work hours are somewhat flexible and will be determined after hire and assigned by VP of Administration.
Set up chairs and tables for meetings as needed.
Keep track of supplies such as but not limited to paper products (plates, forks, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.) and cleaning supplies and report to appropriate individuals for ordering when needed.
