Now Hiring Proposal/Content Writer
Part-Time, Remote (United States)
proHNS is seeking a driven Proposal/Content Writer to join our team. This position will work directly with the proHNS Creative Director and Marketing Manager and assist with crafting compelling responses to RFPs and RFQs, as well as copy writing for blog posts, articles, website copy, email newsletters, and other forms of company communications. In this role, you will help proHNS build brand awareness and win work by accurately promoting our services and unique industry expertise within our desired markets.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing skills, a dedication to delivering high-quality content, the ability to work independently with minimal oversight, a passion for communicating the value of our services effectively, astute attention to detail, and a ruthless competitive edge. Candidates with previous experience in the AEC industry are strongly encouraged to apply, however training will be provided to help familiarize this role with civil engineering, construction management, and the many industry acronyms you will frequently write about.
proHNS has offices in Alaska and Washington State and the hours worked in this role can be flexible but should reflect the time zones followed by most of your colleagues for scheduling and collaborative purposes.
Keys to Success:
Collaborating closely with the Creative Director to develop strategic approaches to our industry-specific proposal writing.
Researching and analyzing RFP/RFQ requirements, project scopes, and client objectives to tailor written content that aligns with our company's capabilities and strengths.
Writing and editing high-quality proposals, technical narratives, and other documents on tight, hard deadlines.
Conducting thorough reviews and revisions to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with RFP/RFQ specifications and industry standards.
Assisting in the development and maintenance of content templates, boilerplate language, and other resources to streamline the proposal processes.
Staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities to enhance our competitive positioning in the market.
Collaborating with subject matter experts, engineers, marketing, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and insights for various deliverables (proposals, blogs, articles, etc.).
Experience working with Adobe design software (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat) to create, edit, and publish visually engaging, accessible, and professional documents.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in English, communications, print journalism, technical writing, or similar field.
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a demonstrated ability to craft persuasive and compelling content.
Strong research abilities and the capacity to synthesize complex information into clear and concise written materials.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
Ability to think strategically, apply sound judgment, be resourceful, troubleshoot, and take initiative.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing high-quality work that reflects our company's professionalism and expertise.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, especially in a remote working environment.
Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Teams, Outlook, Excel, etc.) and Adobe program suite (Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.).
Proven experience in technical writing, proposal development, and RFP/RFQ processes, preferably within the engineering or construction industry.
Interest in learning about the engineering industry and familiarity with our services, clients, and communities served.

Compensation and Benefits:
Employees receive a competitive benefit package, including access to our Medical Insurance plans, with the employer paying 100% of the employee plan. Employees are eligible to participate in our company's 401(k) plan with up to a 4% contribution from the employer. Additionally, employees also receive paid time off and eight paid holidays. proHNS pays for expenses associated with licensure as well as an annual performance bonus. The wage range for this position is $30+ per hour.
