Job Title: Senior Test Technician

DETAILS:

• Duration: Permanent Direct Hire with Benefits

• Location: Seymour, CT

• Salary: $30 - $35Hr. Commensurate with experience

• Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

We are currently seeking a Senior Test Technician in Seymour, CT.

Position Summary and Special Duties:

As a Senior Test Technician, your day-to-day duties will consist of, but may not be limited to:

Job Description:

• Perform in-circuit, functional, and system-level tests on electronic assemblies using MPI or customer-defined test procedures

• Troubleshoot failures to the component level using schematics and data sheets

• Operate and maintain Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), including ICT systems (HP3070, GenRad), Flying Probe (e.g., Takaya), boundary scan, NI LabView, and JTAG

• Interface with Engineering teams to develop and refine efficient, cost-effective test strategies

• Support New Product Introduction (NPI), training, and test process documentation

• Assist in calibration and maintenance of test setups, equipment, and procedures

• Contribute to test metrics reporting, including yield, efficiency, and failure trends

• Maintain test area cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety and ESD procedures

• Use MPI’s Aegis shop floor tracking system to log results and manage workflow

Qualifications:

• ASEE or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or related field preferred

• 5–10+ years of hands-on experience in electronics test and troubleshooting

• Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, and component data sheets

• Strong understanding of analog, digital, RF, high-speed digital, FPGA/CPLD, and power circuit technologies

• Familiar with RF/Microwave concepts such as transmitters, receivers, radar systems, and phase noise measurement

• Experience with common lab and test equipment: oscilloscopes, DVMs, signal/spectrum/network analyzers, power supplies, RLC meters, and 2D X-ray

• Proficient with JTAG, I2C, boundary scan, and PIC programming tools

• Strong understanding of MCU, µP, FPGA/CPLD-based systems and component-level design

• Working knowledge of computer-based test automation and control software

Certifications (Preferred):

• IPC-A-610 Solder Inspection Training

• Component Identification Certification

• CPIM or equivalent industry certification a plus
