Summary:

You will be instrumental in all core accounting functions, including reporting, month-end close, payroll, annual audits, and financial operations. This role will report to our Controller and work closely with our CFO and cross-functional department leads, and key external partners. This is a great opportunity for an individual who enjoys a variety of responsibilities. While the core responsibilities of this role are general accounting, you will also be involved in forecasting, administrative, operations, and compliance work in a supportive team environment. This role is designed to evolve with your expertise. This position is based out of our Boston office. While we support remote working arrangements, we expect you to work out of our Boston office approximately at least twice a week for the first two months to facilitate team integration, training, and critical collaboration. Experience the flexibility of remote work while engaging in meaningful in-office collaboration after the onboarding period, with a requirement to spend at least one day in the office every two weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

Month-end close process in NetSuite, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly financial statements for our US and UK operations

Oversee employee time reporting and analysis

Responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes: vendor invoicing/payments, customer billing, and expense reimbursements

Prepare and file VAT (UK) and state sales tax (US) filings. Be a liaison to our external tax advisors

Responsible for payroll processing via a third-party processor and benefits administration in the US and UK, including resolving state tax filing issues and annual 401 (k) compliance

Work with our team to ensure GAAP compliance, particularly for revenue recognition

Support the annual audit, working closely with the external auditors

Support FP&A work, including preparing monthly management/Board reporting with financial metrics, updating and revising a management dashboard, analyzing and reporting on sales financial KPIs to support executive team decision making, improving and updating financial forecasts, including budget-to-actual results and ongoing cash flow forecast updates

Help identify and implement systems for business process and internal control improvements and participate in documenting standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in the field of accounting, ideally with a technology or professional services company. This experience can include relevant internships.

Prior public accounting experience is a plus

CPA is a plus

Skill and Competencies:

Solid computer skills, including advanced proficiency with Excel

Strong understanding of US GAAP and hands-on experience with month-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations

Must be detail-oriented, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be able to multitask, and have confident interpersonal skills

Proactive problem-solver whos curious and thrives in fast-paced, hybrid environments

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with teams and external partners

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Ability to work long hours at a desk using a PC, video conferencing, and phone.

Capability to work in an office environment and remotely as needed.
