About the Company

Our client is a dynamic and growing manufacturing company known for innovation, quality, and a strong commitment to excellence. They are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Controller to lead their finance function and help drive business decisions through insightful financial management. This is a high-impact role with a clear path to becoming the company's Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Position Overview

The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is hands-on, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has experience in manufacturing or product-based businesses.

This role is not just about managing the books-it's about being a strategic partner in growth. As the company continues to scale, the Controller will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility with the goal of transitioning into the CFO role.

Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including oversight of A/R, A/P, payroll, inventory, and general ledger

Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning

Oversee cost accounting and inventory management systems

Implement and improve internal controls and financial processes

Support strategic financial planning and analysis, including capital expenditures and business modeling

Prepare for CFO-level responsibilities, including investor and board relations

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)

7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting

Strategic thinker with the ability to roll up sleeves and execute

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Ambition and capability to grow into a CFO role

The Controller role is fully onsite in Akron, OH with a salary range of $100,000 - $125,000 depending on experience.
