Hiring for a CNC Machinist/ Programmer!

Volt is immediately hiring for a CNC Machinist/ Programmer in Camarillo, CA.

As a CNC Machinist/ Programmer you will: Interpret technical drawings and work instructions to set up and operate one or more machines or machining centers for processing forgings, castings, and bar stock.

Perform a range of machining operations such as turning, facing, deburring, boring, drilling, milling, spot facing, reaming, tapping, sawing, EDM, threading, slotting, grooving, and grinding using appropriate machine controls.

Utilize DNC systems and related tools to upload and download CNC programs.

Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to verify that machining meets specified tolerances, applying self-inspection and quality assurance practices.

Follow total quality management procedures (e.g., Q1100) to ensure all parts meet required specifications.

Support the training and development of CNC Setup Operators and Turning Center Operators.

Participate in program prove-outs and provide input on manufacturing plans and programming to promote safe and efficient machining practices.

Collaborate on tool design and contribute to concurrent engineering efforts.

Maintain accurate daily production logs.

Keep the work area organized and clean; perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and workstations as needed.

Execute all tasks efficiently, safely, and accurately to prevent production delays, and promptly report any issues affecting job performance to management.

Capable of writing CNC programs directly at the machine and using Mastercam to create programs from 2D drawings, solid models, and custom tooling or fixture designs.

Experience with manual lathes and mills is a plus.

This is a full-time, temp-to-hire, 1st shift opportunity.

Shift: 6 AM to 4 PM, Mon-Fri (Sometimes mandatory overtime during weekdays and weekends) The ideal candidate will have: High school diploma or GED required.

4–6 years of relevant experience and/or training in a machining or manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including safety guidelines, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and manuals.

Capable of writing clear and concise reports and routine correspondence.

Comfortable speaking effectively in group settings and communicating with team members across the organization.

Proficient in applying mathematical concepts such as statistical analysis and trigonometry.

Able to use intermediate-level math in practical, real-world applications related to machining and production.

Strong problem-solving abilities, including data collection, fact analysis, and drawing logical conclusions.

Skilled in interpreting complex technical instructions presented in mathematical or diagrammatic formats.

Capable of managing both abstract and concrete variables in dynamic work environments.

Pay Rate: $32-$38/hr *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
