Leidos is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) Team. This position will support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Terminal Engineering Center in Des Moines, WA.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Senior Electronics Engineer must provide electronics engineering program/ project management support to the FAA Seattle Terminal / Surveillance / Weather Engineering Center (AJW-2W11B) for the transition planning and implementation of various Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) projects.
Routine tasks may include:
Support the coordination of facility design reviews, installation schedule(s), perform site surveys and site analysis, create and update implementation schedules, develop cost estimates, clear Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) exceptions, and increase project communications with all stakeholders (i.e. FAA and non-FAA organizations).
Provide systems engineering support of functional electronic equipment design packages for electronic displays and other electronic equipment and systems.
Provide communications engineering services through analysis of existing communications system/equipment design requirements, development of interfaces that are compatible with end-users’ equipment as well as with previous FAA design patterns and providing Subject Matter expertise (SME) support regarding issues with Radio Coverage Analysis/Structured Cabling Systems and make equipment location recommendations.
Perform engineering analysis with respect to facility availability, reliability, maintainability, safety, economy, and making recommended corrective actions.
Support the coordination and integration of electronics projects during site upgrades and renovations.
Provide review of existing power conditions and identification of additional power requirements or modifications necessary to comply with FAA Standards and Orders.
Participate in the review of contracted work and provide comments and feedback for contractor submitted material product data, shop drawings, schedules and Requests for Information (RFIs).
Coordinate with various FAA elements concerning facilities establishment issues.
Prepare draft testing plans for cutover of electronics systems from the existing FAA facility to the newly established facility as needed.
Prepare draft 50%, 75%, and 100% Site Electronic Engineering Transition Plan documentation for the customer as required.
Please Note: Must be able to work onsite, Des Moines, WA.
Required Qualifications:
Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience OR Master's with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
A strong engineering background and experience with site transition, integrating electronics components/systems together, and test coordination planning and documentation.
Knowledge of and experience with National Airspace System (NAS) systems and terminology.
Knowledge and experience with the design and installation of FAA Communication and Automation Systems.
Experience writing technical reports.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with no breaks).
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with FAA and the National Airspace System (NAS).

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
