We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Permanent Controller to join our team in the construction industry. This role is integral to our financial operations and requires a professional with a strong understanding of business practices, accounting principles, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the payables process, overseeing all accounting-related modules in the company ERP system, and providing timely and accurate financial reports. Additionally, the Controller will manage use and sales tax reporting, cash management, and maintain relationships with external business partners. This is a leadership role, and the Controller will be expected to provide strategic direction to the accounting team.
Responsibilities:
Ensure financial inputs are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with GAAP standards.
Manage the payables process for all companies.
Oversee all accounting-related modules in the company ERP system.
Provide financial reports to fit the short and long-term needs of the businesses.
Manage use and sales tax reporting and associated correspondence.
Oversee cash management, including managing daily cash balances and line of credit utilization.
Provide tactical leadership to the accounting team.
Maintain relationships with external business partners.
Prepare financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA designation is preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proven experience with financial statement preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in using ERP systems and other accounting software.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
