Job Description

A non-ferrous laborer is responsible for working in a salvage yard and handling non-ferrous materials. The job involves sorting, processing, and preparing non-ferrous materials for recycling. The non-ferrous laborer must be able to identify different types of non-ferrous materials and separate them from other materials. The job also involves operating machinery and equipment to process the materials.

Ensure safety procedures are always followed

Competencies

Experience working in a salvage yard with non-ferrous materials

Knowledge of different types of non-ferrous materials

Ability to operate machinery and equipment

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Good communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Reliable attendance a must

Work environment

Inside / Outside, must be able to work in all weather conditions for the entire shift

Physical demands

Must be able to complete various activities in the warehouse that may require hours of lifting, standing, and carrying.

Must be able to move up to 50 pounds at a time.

Required education and experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Preferred education and experience

Knowledgeable with different metals

Experience in driving forklift
