Job Title: Machine Operator

Location: Chicago, IL

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Shifts Available: 1st and 2nd shift

1st Shift: 6:00AM-4:30PM

2nd Shift: 5:00PM-3:30AM

Position Summary:

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operators to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring packaging equipment such as baggers, cartoners, sealers, and labelers. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and a proactive attitude toward safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, and monitor packaging machinery, including but not limited to:

Vertical and horizontal form-fill-seal baggers

Cartoners

Shrink wrappers and case sealers

Labeling machines and coding/printing equipment

Perform changeovers and minor adjustments as needed to maintain product specifications.

Monitor machines for proper operation, troubleshoot minor mechanical issues, and escalate when needed.

Conduct quality checks on packaged products for weight, seal integrity, labeling, and date codes.

Ensure materials (films, cartons, labels) are loaded correctly and replenished as needed.

Complete production paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the machine area.

Follow all company safety protocols and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).

Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience in a manufacturing, co-packing, or food packaging environment preferred.

Familiarity with packaging machinery or mechanical aptitude required.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment.

Must be dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.

Willingness to learn and take direction.
