Salary:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans, leads, and implements camp program for youth. Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants. Ensures campers and ensure their safety, development, growth, skill achievement and general well-being. These individuals will work with primarily youth ages 5 to 16.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Plan, coordinate, and organize camp activities for youth.
Supervise and participate with Summer Camp Participants at all activities sites.
Mentor and guide youth individually and in groups while using a behavior management system to shape youth behavior.
Build relationships with all campers showing compassion, empathy, and understanding.
Set an example for behavior and attitude for Summer Camp participants.
Taking roll call at the beginning and the end of every activity. Maintain required camp data.
Develop and maintain a working relationship with parents/guardians.
Transport youth to and from activities as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned to promote the overall mission and vision of CND.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
High school diploma or equivalent with prior experience working with youth in a similar role. Familiarity with camping and various outdoor activities. Physical ability to assist Summer Camp participants. Patient and reliable. Must have a love for children and maintain an energetic and positive personality. Must have CPR and First Aid.
Commit to learning, creating positive change, and enabling youth to learn.
Strong verbal communication skills
One to two years' experience working with youth.
Ability to engage in physical activities with campers.
Ability to work with diverse population.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license; must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
