Job Description
FRANKLIN INDUSTRIES is looking for hard-working, hands-on employees to fill various roles throughout our plant. The General Laborer will support Franklin Industries in various ways such as material handling, product bundling, and assembly.
On-the-job training is available but previous experience in a manufacturing environment, mechanical skills/aptitude, and/or experience in assembly is preferred.

Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety requirements and work procedures
Ability to follow instructions, both written and verbal
Ability to collaborate well with other team members, performing work in a safe manner
Complete accurate documentation
Good and thorough communication is a necessity
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a safety-sensitive position; you will be working around and/or operating heavy machinery
All PPE (with few exceptions) is provided by the company
May deal with some liquids/chemicals
Shop environment, temperatures will vary
Both indoors and outdoors
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to concentrate for long periods of time while multi-tasking
Ability to do repetitive tasks with hands, arms and legs
Able to twist and reach
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
EXPECTED HOURS - Between 40 and 58 per week
TYPICAL SCHEDULE
5 AM - 3 PM - Mon-Fri
5 AM - 1 PM on Saturdays (only as needed, and on rotation)
PLEASE NOTE: Some departments start earlier, others start later.
STARTING PAY - Typically $15.00/hour (OT is paid at 1.5x pay after 40 hours). New employees are eligible for merit raises and more cross training opportunities after passing their 90-day probationary period.

In 1901, Franklin Rolling Mill & Foundry Company was founded in Franklin, PA. Right in the middle of Steel Country, Franklin Industries is less than two hours from Pittsburgh, where Andrew Carnegie's steel empire ruled the steel industry in the early 20th century.
