Kable Staffing is hiring a Screw Operator in Mason, OH. This position is full-time, temp to hire opportunity.
FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reads blueprints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and the number of parts to be ground, and tooling instructions such as grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheel to be used.
Positions and tightens cams and stops to control the cut depth and stroke length.
Lifts and positions workpiece and secures workpiece on the faceplate or magnetic chuck, in fixture or chuck, or directly to the machine table.
Perform basic repairs, including replacing parts when they are worn down or broken, within the scope of expected knowledge and expertise.
Inspect machinery and workpieces to ensure they remain compliant with specifications to reduce malfunctions.
Ensure grinding wheels are dressed according to specifications, so the machines remain at peak working capability.
Stop the machine upon discovering a problem and make the required adjustments as quickly as possible to minimize downtime.
Provide quality control by inspecting workpieces as they come out of the equipment and removing any defective pieces.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to read blueprints, micrometers, & calipers.
Must be able to set up & run Acme Gridley screw machines.
Have a complete understanding of manufacturing safety, including experience working around large and dangerous machines.
Have manual dexterity, physical stamina, and mechanical expertise.
Good decision-making and foresight.
Physical agility is preferred.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Basic computer skills.
Good communication skills.
Knowledge of quality control standards and testing.
A background check and drug test are required for this position
Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
Communication skills.
