Payroll Implementation Project Manager-hybrid (1-2 days/week onsite in Reston, VA) ($67-97/hr)

Take the lead in driving a critical payroll system transformation from concept to completion! You’ll spearhead every phase of this high-impact project—bringing together diverse teams, cutting-edge technology, and business needs to deliver seamless payroll operations.

Job Description:

Champion the end-to-end payroll implementation journey, orchestrating timelines, resources, and milestones to ensure a flawless launch.

Collaborate closely with stakeholders across departments to capture their unique needs and translate them into actionable, results-driven project goals.

Own the entire testing lifecycle—overseeing system testing, flawless data migration, comprehensive user acceptance testing, and empowering end-users with tailored training programs.

Proactively identify potential roadblocks, mitigate risks, and resolve challenges swiftly to keep the project on track and under budget.

Act as the go-to problem solver, ensuring smooth system performance and integration with timekeeping, benefits platforms, and external vendors.

Lead engaging project meetings, delivering transparent updates and inspiring confidence among leadership and cross-functional teams.

Develop clear, user-friendly documentation, instructional materials, and system manuals that enable teams to maximize system capabilities.

Drive post-implementation success with robust support plans and insightful project closeout sessions that capture key lessons learned for continuous improvement.Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.

5+ years of hands-on technical project management experience with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within scope in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
