As a Rad Tech at MercyOne, you will:
Set up and operates x-ray equipment to assist the physician's diagnosis and treatment of cardiac cath lab patients of diverse ages
Ensure quality of filming, imaging, videotaping, DSA and radiation protection for patients and personnel and proper maintenance and quality control of radiologic imaging equipment
Be proficient with aseptic technique and assists physician with scrubbing during and after procedure
Transport patients to and from the cath lab and may apply manual pressure to puncture site to obtain hemostasis following procedures
Assist with technical utilization of physiologic monitoring/data devices in the cath lab, calibrate physiologic and monitoring devices, enter data into computer for cath report and prepare appropriate forms to document procedural data as well as prepare and maintain physiological data after completion of each procedure
Set up trays for procedures using sterile technique, prepare skin and drapes patient for procedure using aseptic technique
Acquire supplies needed for procedures and may pass to physician or assistant maintaining sterile technique
Assist in maintaining inventory control
Administer CPR, defibrillation, Ambu, etc. as ordered by physician during procedure
Transport patients to and from procedure rooms and report status of hemostasis of puncture site(s) to nurse as well as may apply clamp or manual pressure to puncture site(s)
Provide patient and family education of cath lab procedures and documents of patient medical record
Schedule:
20 hours per week
7:30 am - 5:00pm - shift start/stop times will cary
No weekends or holidays
General Requirements:
Iowa Permit to Practice and ARRT
Basic Life Support
No experience required
Education:
2 year college Radiologic Technology program
2 years experience required
Basic life support
Basic EKG monitoring class preferred.
ACLS preferred - required within 2 years in cath lab
