We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Quality Inspector to join our team in the manufacturing sector, specifically focusing on motors and metal components. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet established quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance:
Inspect, test, and measure parts and products to ensure compliance with specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
Develop and maintain quality inspection protocols and criteria for motors and metal components.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and measurements.
Prepare detailed inspection reports and other documentation as required.
Document non-conformance issues and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions.
Visual and Physical Inspection:
Conduct visual inspections of products for surface defects, dimensional accuracy, and overall quality.
Utilize measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Testing:
Perform functional tests on motors to ensure performance and reliability.
Conduct stress tests and other performance evaluations to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
Collaboration:
Work closely with production, engineering, and procurement teams to address quality concerns.
Engage in team meetings to share findings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with industry standards (such as ISO, ASTM) and internal quality control standards.
Review specifications and engineering drawings to understand quality requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvements and participate in quality improvement programs.
Provide training and guidance to production staff regarding quality standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications in quality control or engineering preferred.
Experience:
Proven experience in quality inspection, preferably in manufacturing, motors, or metal fabrication industry.
Familiarity with quality control tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Proficiency in the use of measuring instruments and quality inspection tools.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Technical Knowledge:
Basic understanding of mechanical principles and electrical components related to motors.
Knowledge of metal fabrication processes and materials.
Working Conditions:
The Quality Inspector will work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required.
